Telegram

Telegram is the first external messaging channel available now for hosted OpenClaw VPS bots.

What You Need

  • A Telegram account
  • A hosted OpenClaw VPS bot
  • A new Telegram bot token from BotFather

Create a new Telegram bot

Open Telegram, message @BotFather , and create a new bot with /newbot.

Copy the bot token

Save the token BotFather gives you.

Add the token in OpenClaw VPS

Open your dashboard deploy or config flow and paste the token into the Telegram setup field.

Save the config

After saving, your hosted bot will reconnect with the new Telegram channel.

Start chatting

Open your new bot in Telegram and send a message.

Notes

  • Web chat is still available even if you add Telegram
  • Private tailnet web chat can also be enabled on the same bot
  • Telegram itself stays public-only in this release
  • Slack and Discord are coming soon for hosted bots

If pairing or replies look wrong, use the support link in the dashboard and we will help you finish setup.
