Managed HostingDashboard Chat

Dashboard Chat

Public web chat is included with every hosted bot. It is the fastest way to start using OpenClaw because you do not need to finish Telegram setup first.

If you connect your customer-owned Tailscale tailnet, web chat can also be private.

What Web Chat Includes

  • Saved chat history
  • File uploads and downloads
  • Inline image previews
  • Clickable links in chat history
  • The same bot logic your hosted deployment uses elsewhere

Public, Private, Or Both

Hosted web chat supports four modes:

  • public for the normal Cloudflare-backed web URL
  • private for a tailnet-only web URL
  • both if you want public and private web chat together
  • disabled if you do not want web chat at all

Telegram is separate and remains public-only.

Best Way To Use It

  1. Open your bot from the dashboard
  2. Go to the Chat tab
  3. Send a simple message first
  4. Upload a file or image if your workflow needs one
  5. Keep using web chat until you are ready to add Telegram

Why Start Here

Web chat is the easiest place to confirm that:

  • your bot is online
  • your AI key setup is working
  • your prompts and personas behave the way you expect

What To Check If Chat Is Not Responding

  • Confirm your AI key is valid
  • Check whether the bot still shows as active
  • Review Alerts for any recent issues
  • Review Timeline to see whether the bot restarted
  • Contact support if it still does not respond

When To Add Telegram

Add Telegram when you want messages outside the browser. If you are still testing prompts, files, or setup, web chat is usually the easiest place to stay.
